Turner Gill's five-year contract as head football coach at Kansas will pay him $2 million a year, including $1.7 million for television, radio and other media responsibilities. Quarterback Tim Tebow showed progress on his second day of Senior Bowl practices even though he might have been "a little under the weather." South team coach Tony Sparano of the Miami Dolphins says the former Florida star was a little more comfortable and got the ball out of his hand quicker on Tuesday.

A judge ruled on Wednesday that fired Texas Tech coach Mike Leach's lawsuit against the university can go forward but not as quickly as his attorneys wanted. State District Judge William Sowder denied a motion by Leach's attorneys to speed up taking depositions from school administrators and obtaining documents relevant to the case.

Houston quarterback Case Keenum has decided to play for the Cougars his senior year, skipping the NFL draft. "I feel this is a very special group of guys, and we have a lot of chemistry and history together and played a lot of games over the years," Keenum said in a statement issued by the university Wednesday.
